ABOUT US

Welcome to Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches, Inc., located at 11924 W. Forest Hill Blvd., Suite 10A, Wellington, Fl. 33414. In 1991, several Jamaicans residing in Palm Beach County recognized the need for an organization geared towards uplifting and empowering the less fortunate citizens in the community. Because of this recognition, the Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches, Inc. was formed. Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. The organization’s stated mission is to provide services to the people of our community, mainly in the areas of health services and education.
Over the past 32 years, our services have included health fairs that provide free physical examinations and immunizations for children ages 6 months to 19 years old in preparation for the new school year; HIV testing, dental examinations, fillings, vision examinations, hypertension and diabetes screening, prostate checks, pap smears and breast examinations and prescription for mammograms. Also, each year, we celebrate Black History Month, also participate in Domestic violence walks and teaching activ-ities. As a result of the health fairs, the organization gained in stature, and many people reached out to us for help in times of need. We are part of the Alliance Disaster Coalition, a group of four community organizations in a collaborative effort that assists in providing food, clothes, and general supplies after disasters such as hurricanes in the United States and the Caribbean.
In addition, we have provided scholarship funds to deserving high school students to assist them in the next stage of their educational journey. To this end, we have had fundraisers specifically targeting this effort.
